The baseball plant is scientifically known as Euphorbia obesa. It is a succulent flowering plant and its pod contains about two to three seeds in it. It is a slow growing wild plant. Due to its over collection, this plant is in a danger condition. It is cultivated in normal gardens and botanical gardens, because of its unique appearance, and to study about this plant. It is seen in subtropical regions and is native to Cape Province, South Africa.

        A baseball plant looks exactly like a ball, therefore, this plant is called so. It is about 6 c.m to 15 c.m in diameter and the young plants look spherical but they get cylindrical shape according to the time. It has male and female flowers, and its flowers are called as cyathia. The latex of baseball plant is toxic like its other species and can kill humans.

        The baseball plant is a very rare type of plant and is seen in the Karoo region of South Africa, which is a summer rainfall area.
